Barbara has devoted her professional life to bringing music into the lives of seniors since 1995.
She has played piano and taught weekly sing-along music programs at skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in Northern California.  For the past five years she has specialized in conducting music programs in Alzheimer’s facilities.

Seeing first-hand the difference that music and singing can make in the lives of older adults, Barbara was encouraged by her students to videotape a class. Now others at home or those living in senior facilities can experience the joy and stimulation of participating in one of her sing-along programs through her DVDs.

Barbara graduated from the High School of Music and Art in New York City as a voice and piano major. She has a B.S. in education from Syracuse University, and an M.S. in counseling from Lehman College.

Barbara’s articles about her experience with music and Alzheimer’s patients have appeared in many newspapers and national publications that specialize in issues important to seniors and their caregivers.
